St. Peter and St. Paul

The painting of St Peter and St Paul in prison was painted by Giuseppe Cali in 1881 and was paid by Pietro Paolo Balzan.
 
Opposite this painting on the door leading to the main altar is a marble plaque commemorating the Centenary from the Opening of the Church, the arrival of the Titular Statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the arrival of the Franciscan Friars in 1881.
 
On the left of this door above is a marble plaque commemorating the work done by Fr Joseph Vella OFM, Franciscan Friar who lived in the same parish who continued the devotion towards Our Lady of the Sacre Heart of Jesus.
 
Below this plaque is a monument to Fr Paul Vella commemorating the centenary from his death. The bust was made by Chevalier Alfred Camilleri Cauchi while the marble pedestal was made by the firm Euromarbles of Qormi.
 
On the right of this door above is a marble plaque commemorating the work carried out in the decoration of the church by Fr Camillo Aquilina OFM, a Franciscan Friar who spent his life living in the parish.
 
Below this plaque is a monument to Provincial Fr Tonin Cesal OFM to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Franciscan Province and the 75th anniversary of his death. The bust was made by Chevalier Alfred Camilleri Cauchi while the marble pedestal was made by Ronald Pisani,
