The Chapel was built between 1934-1936 when the church was enlarged by another chapel from the front. The titular painting was made in 1937 by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters in Rome depicts the figure of Jesus showing his Heart on his chest and surrounded by the Franciscan Doctor of the Church St Bonaventure, St Margaret of Cortone and St Mary Margaret Alacoque.
The altar is made from coloured marble and was paid by Lazzaro Xuereb in 1891, the coat of arms of the Xuereb family is seen on the sides of the altar. The floor to the chapel was paid by Family Pace whose emblem is found in the middle of the chapel. This paving was made in 1954 with the rest of the paving of the church.
On the side of the altar there is a marble plaque on which are the names of the committee which over took the work on the construction of the church.
On the door is a painting depicting St Paul.
On the column near the side door is the 8th station of the Via Crucis in a marble frame.
