St. Jerome

The titular painting is considered as a masterpiece by Giuseppe Cali. This was painted in 1881. St. Jerome is shown half naked in a cave meditating in front of a cross with the Holy Scripture open in front of him. This was paid by Count Girolamo Tagliaferro.

The altar was made in marble by Mikiel Buhagiar. The paving was paid by Family Pirotta whose coat of arms is seen in the marble paving.

On the altar is a picture of Blessed Carlo Acutis, a young Italian youth who had special devotion to the Eucharist.

On a wooden column is a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

On the columns on either side of the altar of St. Jerome one can see the 9th and 10th station of the Via Crucis in a marble frame.
